We put this fan in my daughter's bedroom last winter. At night I would turn the heat down for the rest of the house and just leave the fan going all night. It worked out great - there was no increase in our power bill and my daughter's room stayed warm. I am buying a second one for our chilly living room. Yes, it's a bit noisy, but nothing to worry about - we all slept through the humming noise without a problem.

So-far I am very happy with it. I have it installed in AZ room and I use it every day. I use it as intended as supplement and find that it will by itself keep my room at about 73 when it is 40 out. It does make a fan noise that I am now use to so it is like any other heating system that I have used including heat pump.

It's convenient to have a regular ceiling fan. It's amazing to have a ceiling fan that both cools and heats. Every ceiling fan should be a combo fan.
